Our captive-bred Land Snails (Cornu aspersum, Helix aspersa) are curious, peaceful, and surprisingly fun to observe. Watch your snail explore, climb, burrow, and forage throughout its enclosure. Snails make wonderful pets for both new and experienced invertebrate keepers. Their relatively simple care requirements, manageable size, and interesting behaviors make them an enjoyable addition to a terrarium, classroom, or educational setting.
One snail is perfectly happy on its own and does not require a companion. This can also be a great option for keepers who don't want to intentionally encourage breeding, as keeping multiple mature snails together can result in eggs and lots of baby snails.
- Scientific Name: Cornu aspersum, Helix aspersa
- Adult Size: Approximately 1–1.5" shell diameter
- Diet: Leafy greens, vegetables, quality snail food & calcium
Your snail will be individually selected from our captive-bred colony. Shell colors, patterns, and banding naturally vary, making every snail a little different. They may arrive dormant where their flesh is retracted in their shell. They just need a light rinse by running them gently under water for a few seconds, which will bring them out of hibernation.
Please Note: Never release captive snails, eggs, or offspring in the wild.
